Back into the Swing of Things

“The Swing Of Things”: a phrase that’s been around for a while. “Swing”: if you’re into baseball you might think of a batter’s swing with elements of stance and load (balanced position), stride (how the parts of the body work together to generate power), contact (where the bat meets the ball), and hopefully a strong finish to “hit it outta the park”. “Swing”: if you like the Roaring 1920’s or Swing Era of the 1930’s you might think of big band style jazz music and some fun dancing. “Swing”: you might think about enjoying time with friends on the swings at the playground or maybe enjoying some refreshing cool lemonade on your porch swing during warm spring days. But how about that phrase “the swing of things” which means to become fully active in a regular activity after a break or becoming good at something new. Well, friends, it’s been a few long years since I posted any blogs here. A lot has been happening at work and home, but I now find myself with more time to focus on some of my favorite things: writing, baking, and mentoring. I’ve been working here on rebuilding my website and author presence and really look forward to providing more family friendly posts and creative fun. So, what’s your favorite type of “swing” - baseball, music, or playground. For me, I love all three.
